Up on the recommendation of Swarn singh committee the fundamental duties were added to the constitution through 42nd Amendment act,1976 by adding Article 51(A) to the constitution. it has been borrowed from the Japanese constitution which in turn had borrowed it from the constitution of the Russia federation.
