Carbon dioxide(CO2) in its solid form is known as Dry ice. It is Dry because when it is exposed to normal temperatures(which is higher than its own temperature), unlike water, it is directly converted into fumes of Carbon dioxide, and not into any liquid material. Leaving the surface dry.
