The pale blue precipitate of copper hydroxide dissolves in excess of ammonium hydroxide forming tetraamine copper[II] sulphate, an azure blue(deep blue) soluble complex salt. When an ammonium salt is warmed with sodium hydroxide solution, ammonia gas is evolved.

Ammonia gas is evolved when drops of aqueous ammonia are added to aluminium salt and warmed.

- When we add aqueous ammonia to an aluminium salt like aluminium sulphate, then the following reaction takes place:

Al2(SO4)3 + 6 NH3 + 6 H2O → 2 Al(OH)3 + 3 (NH4)2SO4

- When this mixture is heated, then ammonium sulphate decomposes into sulphuric acid and ammonia gas is evolved.

(NH4)2SO4 + Heat → 2 NH3 + H2SO4
