Poultry litter (a mixture of rice hulls, sawdust and chicken excreta of broilers) mixed with the co-substrate cow dung and poultry droppings was evaluated under anaerobic conditions for the production of biogas (methane).

ANSWER :

AMMONIA gas is produced in poultry litter(mixture of feathers, excreta, spill feed). Always try to keep the litter dry in shed because wet litter produces ammonia gas which causes diseases and some health related problems both for poultry and Human. In winter season stir the litter twice a week.

Poultry includes chicken,  turkey,  ducks,  geese,  Japanese quails, emu, etc.
