When dilute Hydrochloric acid reacts with any reactive metal, then hydrogen gas releases with a formation of a metal salt.

for example :- 2HCl (dil.) + 2Na -------- 2NaCl + H2

when iron reacts with dilute H2SO4 then............ a iron salt (ferrous sulphate) formed with release of hydrogen gas..

Fe + H2SO4 (dil.) -------- Fe2SO4 + H2
