Which gas is usually displaced during reaction between acids and a metal? How will you test
this gas? Take the example of magnesium metal to explain.

Metal + Acid ----› salt + H2

Mg + 2HCl ----› Mg(Cl)2 + H2

so, it is clear that u will get hydrogen gas when acid reacts with a metal.

test of hydrogen is splint test.

hey there,

metal + acid ----> salt + hydrogen

let's take an example:-

2 Mg + HSo = MgSo + H

as you can see that hydrogen gas is produced when a metal reacts with an acid.
