generally hydrogen gas is liberated when an acid is reacted with metal

Like H2SO4 React with any metal and a solution is ready and with the solution hydrogen gas is liberated

when an acid is treated with metal, hydrogen gas is liberated.

eg.

Zn+HCl=ZnCl+H2

we can test its presence by placing a burning candle near it.when hydrogen gaa comes in contact with the burning candle we get a popping sound.
