Hydrogen gas will evolve .the gas will be tested by introducing a burning candle if it burns with a popping sound then the gas id hydrogen. NaOH+HCl gives NaCl +H2O

Hydrogen is liberated.

e.g-H2SO4+2Na---->Na2SO4+H2

keep a lighted match stick at the mouth of the test - tube in which reaction takes place. Hydrogen burns with a pop sound. This is the test for hydrogen.
