we know that, :-

When rounding to the nearest hundred, look at the tens digit of the number.

If that digit is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4, you will round down to the previous hundred. { The hundreds digit does not change.}

If that digit is 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9, you will round up to the next hundred. { The hundreds digit increases by one.}

All rest digits changes into 0.

So,

→ Estimate value of 5.9 = 6

→ Estimate value of 8.28 = 8

Than,

Estimate product = 6 * 8 = 48.

and,

→ Exact value = 5.9

→ Exact value = 8.28

Than,

Exact product = 5.9 * 8.28 = 48.852 .

Hence, Option (B) is correct . estimate: 48; exact product: 48.852.
