Pancreas secret a hormone when the level of sugar in the blood rises and the hormone released is called insulin.

Insulin and glucagon hormone play an important role in regulating the blood glucose level in the body to keep in the normal range for the normal functioning of the body.

Insulin improve the uptake of glucose from the blood across cell membranes  and in to cells of the body and take out the glucose out of the blood stream.

When glucose is used as the energy source to fuel the cells and performing different kind of activity or is stored in the liver or muscle as a glycogen. This leads to the dropping of glucose level in the blood which further triggers the pancreas to switch off the mechanism to release insulin.
