The major hormones secreted by the pancrea are Insulin,Glucagon and Somatostatin

• Glucagon is secreted by the alpha cells of the Islets of Langerhans

• While the Insulin is produced by beta cells

• Glucagon and Insulin are antigonist in functions

When glucose level in the body is less,the pancreas is stimulated to produce insulin whereas on the converse,to curb the glucose levels : glucagon is produced

Enzymes

Enzymes here are produced in the form of pancreatic juice. For instance,it consists of:

• Lipases (Fats reducing)

• Proteases (Proteins reducing)

• Amylases (Carbohydrates reducing)

For example,trypsin is a protein degrading enzyme.
