Explanation:

We cannot say BJP is better than Congress exactly or Congress is better than BJP. Because it depends on the leadership mainly on the position of Prime Ministership candidate.

All parties depends on the qualities and characteristics of their respective party heads. In our so-called democracy there is no exception to select the best party or best leader. All political parties are based on the strength of caste and creed, religion, regional feelings and many other factors which prevail in our country.

And what made you raise this question? any way

I will not indulge in the question of which is better - BJP or Congress.

As Emerson put forth succinctly when he wrote- Good and Bad are but just names readily transferable to this or that.

Everyone has his/her own standards on what is good or bad for the nation.

Obviously not being a BJP fan and Modi Bhakt,Being Desh bhakat.I think BJP is better and that is why I believe in this party to lead the country ahead.

Now coming to the matter, I think it is more important to ask which party is "more representative" of India and I am not just talking about number of elected Representatives as it changes from election to elections.

I am talking about the participation of people and scope for participation of an average Indian and get his/her views represented.

In that, BJP is the only party today in India who you can enter fairly easily and make your views for the nation count. To some extent it is true of our adversary like Communists but since their existence is only in Kerala today, it is a different subject.

Ideally in a good polity there should be more than 1 parties where an average Indian has that opportunity. Sadly that's not the case with India.

Most of the political parties especially regional ones have turned into family fiefdoms over the last couple of decades and your opinion or your talents simply doesn't count anymore in these parties.

It is the same story across India right from Kashmir (in J&K) to Kanyakumari (in Tamil Nadu) where 2nd-3rd generations of Shiekh Abdullahs or Muftis and Karunanidhis respectively rules the roost.

Your contribution is neither sought nor needed in these parties.

On the other hand, In BJP you are fairly reasonable even if you enter your local BJP office to register as member with the goal of being the PM in next 20-30 years or so. You stand a fair chance regardless of your background, caste, class etc. More importantly, you won't get that Who-is-this-fool look from BJP karyakartas if you say it that I want to be a PM someday. Those karyakartas know that there is a possibility. You don't need the blessings of any particular family to be a PM from BJP. Only the blessings of the people of the Nation is enough for that and if the cadre feels that you have it in you to win the hearts and minds of people of India, you get a shot too.

So next time you are apprehensive about a particular policy adopted by the BJP led Central or State Govt, be sure that you have other options too except posting sadistic comments on social media sites or just blaming the system. You might as well go to the local BJP office and try to change what you want to change in a few years if you are tactful enough to do that.

It's your country and your political party. Your views count too.
