' Great victory' is referred to the victory of English people over French in the battle of Blenheim by the Duke of Marlbro' and the prince Eugene. No, it was not a great victory because victory is in saving the life of of people and not in destroying them whereas this poem conveys about the destruction caused during battle and many lives which were destroyed.
