Bryophytes--is the group of plants which is known as the amphibians of Plant kingdom. As we know amphibians live in both land and water but the Bryophytes live in land and need water for sexual reproduction that is why it is called the amphibians of the plant kingdom.
Actually the sperm of the bryophite is flagellate and thus needs water to swim to the eggs.
