W. E. B. Dubois (1868 – 1963) was the founder of NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Coloured people) in 1909.
He was a civil rights activist, sociologist and historian, who worked actively, for equal rights, for blacks in America. He was also the leader of Niagara movement, a group of African-American activists, who worked towards this goal. He stressed on full civil rights and political representation for the blacks.
