Non-Cooperation Movement(1920-22) was led by Mahatama Gandhi during 1920-1922 as a result of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, when General Dyer opened fire on an unarmed gathering at the Basakhi Festival.

Under this movement, Gandhi said that people must say no to all sorts of foreign goods. He believed that by this, the British would face loss in trade and eventually leave India. However, he called it off when things got violent and out of control.

This movement was joined by several political and non-political groups that demanded complete/total independence from the British Raj.

Later, in 1930, Gandhi again decided to step out against the British Rule through his non-violent civil disobedience movement. Under this movement, the Congress stood against the unjust taxation of the British over salt production.

Gandhi marched from March 12, 1930 to April 6, 1930. He walked on the coastline of Dandi and collected salt from the sea. This movement was joined by different members of the All India National Congress.
