which has greater area, a square of perimeter 44 cm or a circle having circumference 44 cm? ........give answer

perimeter of square = 44
4 * a = 44
a = 11
area of square = a^2
                         = 11^2 = 121 cm sq.
now,
circumference of circle = 44
2 * pie * r = 44
r = 44 * 7 / (2 * 22)
r = 7 cm
area = pie * r^2
        = 22/7 * 7 * 7
        = 154 cm sq.
clearly circle has greater area. ANSWER.
