Solid carbon-di-oxide is dry ice

Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide. It is used primarily as a cooling agent. Its advantages include lower temperature than that of water ice and not leaving any residue. It is useful for preserving frozen foods where mechanical cooling is unavailable.

Dry ice is mainly contains carbon dioxide (co2) it is used as cooling agent and sometimes to carbonize th food. And it is called dry ice because, the actual ice contain dust in its surface so its easily melts but dry ice vapourise and wont melt. Thats why it is called dry ice
