Identity -

(x+a)(x+b) = x² + x(a+b) + ab

So according to the identity--

101 × 102

= (100+1)×(100+2)

= 100² + 100(1+2) + (1×2)

= 10000 + 300 + 2

= 10302

Hence, the identity to be use here is

(x+a)(x+b) = x² + x(a+b) + ab

and 101×102 is 10302.
