In India, the Kanjeevaram weave comes from the city of Kanchipuram located in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Kanjeevaram weave is nothing but the most fabulous silk sarees that are available in the textile market all over the world. The credit of initiating the "art of silk sarees" manufacturing was given to Krishnadevaraya, the king of the Vijayanagara Empire.

As the news of silk sarees weaving spread, two most prominent weavers from Andhra Pradesh visited Kanchipuram and involved in silk sarees weaving process. They used the images that were painted on the "walls of temples" to design the sarees.
