an atom of I is always neutrol. Atom always have a same size. iodine can never be I+ because it can not lose electron. As for your answer it will be I- (ion) will have a bigger structure because it has gained one electron. when any atom or elements get a + or - charge it is called ion (not atom) just for your information.
