The answer to this question is option C which is Na+ because Na+ ion produces the action potential in a nerve fiber.

When the nerve fiber can depolarize, then it triggers a rise in the permeability of ligand-gated sodium ion channels which causes the sodium channels to easily open as well as sodium ions smoothly go into a nerve cell.
