Genetic engineering, also called genetic modification is the manipulation of an organism's genes using biotechnology procedures.
In this case, the potato crop was genetically modified, meaning that, the crop was improved genetically. Although, this process has many advantages like inserting a vaccine in the edible crop and easy storage, it also has disadvantages.
