Hey buddy..

In chemistry, both HCl and H2SO4 are strong acids. But what makes the HCl is stronger than H2SO4 is the difference in Basicity of both acids. In contrast, the HCl is monoprotic acid whereas, the H2SO4 is Diprotic acid.

The strength of both acids can be determined by based on degree of dissociation (degree of ionisation).

When HCl dissolve in water, it will dissociate into one mole of H+ ion and Cl- ions. Whereas, the H2SO4 dissociate into two mole of 2H+ and SO4^2- . Hence, the number of H+ ions produced by H2SO4 is higher and easily replace with other compounds. It is possible for these acids to form more than one type of salt. Thus, decrease in the H+ concentration mean lower the PH value, which greatly reduce H2SO4 ‘s strength than HCL.

Hope this helps you..

Explanation:

Acidic strength of an acid is determined by the number of hydrogen ions it gives upon dissociation. That is, more is the number of H^{+} ions given by an acid more will be its acidic strength.

For example, HCl \rightarrow H^{+} + Cl^{-}. This means that HCl is a monoprotic acid as it gives only one H^{+} ion.

Whereas H_{2}SO_{4} \rightarrow 2H^{+} + SO_{4}^{-}. This means H_{2}SO_{4} is a diaprotic acid as it gives two H^{+} ions.

Thus, we can conclude that H_{2}SO_{4} is a stronger acid than HCl.
