Milk of Magnesium also known as Magnesium Hydroxide ( MgOH) is commonly used to treat indigestion as When we eat too much or when we are in depression then our stomach produces an acid called Hydrochloric Acid ( HCl ) which is more in amount. So, We drink Milk of Magnesia as it is a base, it will neutralise the acid with it and produce a salt called Magnesium Chloride ( MgCl2 ). Hence, giving us relief.
