Following are the example of bacterial disease :-
1. Tuberculosis
2. Diphtheria
3. Pertussis
4. Tetanus
5. Cholera
6. Diarrhoea
7. Pneumonia
8. Syphilis
9. Gonorrhoea

11. Typhoid
12. Leprosy
Tuberculosis
- Caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Gram-positive)
- Spread through coughing, sneezing, talking and splitting droplets.
- Lungs affected, high fever, cough, chest pain, loss of appetite, weight loss.
- Prevention measures are immunization by BCG (Bacillus Calmette Guerin) vaccine.
Diphtheria
- Caused by Corynbacterium diphtheriae (Gram-positive) .
- Infection through droplets.
- Slight fever, oozing of semisolid material in throat (sore throat).
- Immunization with DPT vaccine.
Diarrhoea
- Cause by Salmonella typhimurium and Shigella Shigae.
- Spread through contaminated meat and other proteinaceous food particles. Transmitted through finger, beds, cloths and utensils and most importantly by faeces.
- Oral and intravenous re-hydration is required.
