which is greater static or kinetic friction? And why?

Kinetic friction is greater because it takes more energy to move the static object,but any of physicists say that static fiction is greater than kinetic energy....

Static friction would be more greater or stronger than kinetic friction.The reason behind this is that static friction act when a body is at rest. So , more number of interlocking between the object and the surface for a long time which is required to be overcome first.
