Hiii machiii ✋..
➡️ C - 12 is the heavier.
➡️ AMU of 6 protons (6.0438amu) and 6 neutrons (6.0204amu) = 12.0642amu I understand atomic weight, being the average of mass of isotopes on earth. But I do not understand how Carbon-12 = 12 amu, unless is is just rounded down to a whole number for simplicity purposes.

It is expressed as a multiple of one-twelfth the mass of the carbon-12 atom, 1.992646547 × 10−23 gram, which is assigned an atomic mass of 12 units. In this scale 1 atomic mass unit (amu) corresponds to 1.660539040 × 10−24 gram.
All carbon atoms have 6 protons in their nucleus. Most carbon atoms also have 6 neutrons, giving them an atomic mass of 12 ( = 6 protons + 6 neutrons). Carbon-14 atoms have two extra neutrons, giving them a total of 8 neutrons. Carbon-14 has an atomic mass of 14 ( = 6 protons + 8 neutrons)
