Answer :-

Option.B represents a more concentrated sugar solution as (6.97 % > 6 %) .

Explanation :-

For option A :-

We have :-

→ Mass of sugar (solute) = 18 g

→ Mass of solution = 300 g

Concentration of the solution :-

= Mass of solute/Mass of solution × 100

= 18/300 × 100

= 1800/300

= 6 %

For Option B :-

We have :-

→ Mass of sugar (solute) = 18 g

→ Mass of water (solvent) = 240 g

Mass of solution :-

= (18 + 240) g

= 258 g

Concentration of the solution :-

= Mass of solute/Mass of solution × 100

= 18/258 × 100

= 1800/258

≈ 6.97 %

Answer :-

Given :-

A's :-

  • Mass of solute = 18g
  • Mass of solution = 300g

We know,

Concentration of a solution:

⇒ Mass of solute/(Mass of solution) × 100

  • 18/(300) × 100
  • 6 %

B's :-

  • Mass of solute = 18g
  • Mass of solvent = 240g

We know,

Mass of solution:

  • Mass of solute + solvent

Concentration of a solution:

⇒ Mass of solute/(Mass of solution) × 100

  • 18/(18 + 240) × 100
  • 6.97 %

∴ We can say that B solution is more concentrated than A solution.

  • 6.97 % > 6 %
