I believe, personally, that J-20 will be better than AMCA because:
★By the time, AMCA will be in production, J-20 might have completed 2–3 decades of service in PLAAF, and so there are better chances that during those long span of time, J-20 will be upgraded.
★Looking at the record of HAL in terms of indigenous development capability, it’s clear that AMCA might have older technology by the time it’ll enter production just as the case is with the Tejas aircraft.
★Applying logic & common sense, one can deduct that if they developed two aircraft in such a time frame then there is a likelihood that they’ll develop next generation aircraft by the time we’ve a 5th generation aircraft in flying condition. And hence the question that will AMCA be better than J-20 will become futile, because it won’t matter when you’ve an advanced aircraft to catch up with.
