Cl element has one vacant space for one atom of Cl to achieve its noble gas configuration.

at the same place Cl -Cl bond formation takes place by exchanging atoms with each other to get stable state.

Hope it help

Answer: Cl₂ is more stable than Cl⁻

Explanation:

Ion is a charged atom or molecule and Compound is formed from chemical bonds between elements. Ions are of two types: Anion ( negatively charged) and Cation ( positively charged).

Cl⁻ is an ion because of the negative charge it carries. It is an anion. Cl₂ is a compound. Compunds are more stable than ions. Ions are highly unstable because of the charge. Hence, Cl₂ is more stable than Cl⁻
