The process through which sugar converts into Glucose to produce Energy is termed as Cellular Respiration.

Cellular Respiration are of two types:-

Aerobic Respiration - These respiration are considered to be extremely efficient for the living beings as it ensures constant supply of Oxygen in the Cell.

Anaerobic Respiration - Under this, the cells will break downn the sugar into energy particularly in the absence of Oxygen.

The function of Cellular Respiration are :-

  • It breaks down the sugar into the form of energy which is required for the living organisms.
  • The secretion of Adenosine Tri phosphate (ATP), is the main product of this cellular respiration and it is the source of energy in the Mitochondrian part of the cell.
  • It is required to have cellular respiration in order to the cell to function and transport energy from one part of the cell to other.
