The human heart is myogenic in nature. In a myogenic heart, the contraction is initiated by a special node called SA node also known as the pacemaker of the heart. Hence even if the nerve supply of a myogenic heart is cut off it continues to beat. The human heart is four chambered. The mitral valve located between the left atrium and the left ventricle.
