Characteristics of the meristematic cells:-

1) The cells are isodiametric with thin cellulosic cell walls with no secondary cell wall.

2) They divide rapidly hence, there is no stored food in these cells.

3) They are compactly arranged cells with no intercellular spaces.

4) They have a dense cytoplasm with a prominent nucleus.

5) Endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria are not fully developed in these cells.

6) They are the most metabolically active cells.

7) These cells get differentiated once they become non-dividing i.e, permanent tissue (non-dividing cells which perform a specific function).So, the correct answer is 'Cells are arranged with intercellular spaces'.
