When Carbon dioxide passes through Lime water it makes the lime water milky due to the formation of a precipitate i.e. Calcium Carbonate.
Reaction involved :
Ca(OH)2(aq) + CO2(g) → CaCO3(s) + H2O(l) ✔✔
