which is preferred for transmitting electric power ovel long disrance,why.?

copper is used for transmitting electricity bcoz it is the good conductor of electricity... n it i the cheapest metal compared to gold n silve.... though gold and silver have high ductility n malleabilty...they are not used or transmitting electric power... sice they are costliest metals..
