Explanation:
The reason why Kpop is much more popular than both C-pop and J-pop is due to their aggressive marketing strategy along with their super catchy tunes. Somehow, their songs and melody are more easily acceptable compared to C-pop and J-pop.
Explanation:
Pop is all-inclusive, while the rest are subgroups (based on country of origin).
I personally prefer KPop (along with the REST of the world) because there’s more selection and the training of the idols is more thorough. I also think the songs are better since those South Korean companies spend oodles of won to get the best songwriters in the WORLD (& choreographers as well). Plus they are encouraging the involvement of group members in writing songs/lyrics/rap/choreography, as well as producing.
JPop’s mostly too cheesy/cutesy for me - ESPECIALLY the girl groups.
CPop - or Taiwanese anyway - has ONE group dear to my heart which is Fahrenheit. Jiro Wang!! OMG love him. But they disbanded, sadly.
As for American/Western pop (I suppose that is what you meant by ‘pop’ - rather Western centric of you) has some great performers but they tend to be soloists. I love the divas, and Bruno Mars. Hate Bieber cause he’s a tool.
All in all tho I prefer KPop because of the superb performances, the dancing and staging, and the gorgeous guys - plus the unending variety. KPop reminds me of Glam Rock & MoTown which I loved.
