\bold{Answer}

The thar desert or the Great Indian Desert is the 17th largest desert im the world.

The thar desert is bounded on the northwest by the sutlej River, on the east by the Aravalli hills, on the south by the Rann of Kachchh, and on the west by the Indus River in Pakistan.

In India, the Thar stretches up to 500 km.

In some places, the sand collects on the form of mounds or ridges which are called sand dunes.

Sand dunes are formed by dust storms in the desert. They keep moving with strong winds.

The thar desert is very hot and dry and is severely short of water.

Thar desert mostly occupied western Rajasthan and also extends into the southern portions of Haryana and Punjab into northern Gujarat.
