We’ve already had one new Lego game since the cancellation of Lego Dimensions, but The Lego Ninjago Movie game was clearly a B-lister. It had some interesting new ideas for the series, but was much smaller in scope and clearly had a lower budget than most of the other games. But this is a much bigger deal. The Lego video games formula has been used on many properties over the years but none, not even Star Wars, suit it as well as superheroes.

There are more and stranger heroes and villains in this game than any other so far, but while the pages of Marvel comics seems to offer an endless supply of new characters the question is whether the very familiar gameplay is equally limitless in its appeal.
