1 > 3> 2


distance factor for eg .

first look the position of Ortho , meta , para ,

as para is far so stability is maxm .

Similarly compare both. ..

abha22math: The answer actually was 1>2>3 and it's from a jee mains paper so it can't be wrong. 3 is definitely the most unstable of all since the -OH group is in the meta position and it cannot donate its electron pair for carbocation stabilisation. I don't understand why 1>2.
