☞The earliest major civilization in India was the Indus Valley Civilization (c. 3300 to 1300 BCE), spread over northwestern areas of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.

☞It was called so since it flourished along the basins of the River Indus.

☞The other name of the same is Harappan  civilization, named after the site called Harappa that was the first one to be excavated here.
