Air transportation is the fastest possible transportation because the air transportation doesn't face any kind of physical obstructions in the path, traffic jams and environmental resistance against the velocity (the aerodynamic design of the airplanes avoids most of the air resistance against the velocity.)

Although the outer space transportation is faster than normal air transportation but outer space transportation is not for the general public and among the public transportation methods air transportation is obviously the fastest of all.
