As of June 2018, the fastest supercomputer on the TOP500 supercomputer list is the Summit, in the United States, with a LINPACK benchmark score of 122.3 PFLOPS, exceeding the previous record holder, Sunway TaihuLight, by around 29 PFLOPS

This is the first time US can claim the world’s most powerful supercomputer since 2012. Another Chinese system, Tianhe-2 (Milky Way-2), topped the list for three consecutive years before being unseated by the TaihuLight.
