The nematodes which infect the tobacco are as follow:

1.       Southern root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita)

2.       Peanut root-knot nematode (M. arenaria)

3.       Javanese root-knot nematode (M. javancia)

Nematodes are found everywhere in tobacco fields with more than one species often present. Theses nematodes not only directly harm the tobacco but also make them vulnerable to other diseases such as black shank and brown spot. Tobacco crop should be managed on high priority as they are highly vulnerable to nematodes.
