Hypothalamus is the gland which regulate the temperature of the body. It does so by coordinating with other organs or body parts such as skin, blodd vessels etc.

Anterior hypothalamus helps in decreasing the temperature of the body. It dilates the blood vessels which increases the flow of blood, salts etc towards skin. It increases the rate of evaporation which helps in decreasing the body temperature. In addition, it also acts on sweat glands to increase sweating as it also helps in heat loss.

Posterior hypothalamus helps in increasing the temperature of the body. It leads to vasoconstriction and thus prevent heat loss taken place by evaporation and radiation. In addition, it increases the muscle activity in the form of shivering which also increases the body temperature.

For humans, the homeostatic body temperature is 37°C or 98.6°F.
