In my opinion, there are three important sources of water pollution:
1)Domestic Waste:- People throw their waste in rivers, throw rubbish in the open or throw the same in ditches which render surface water and groundwater contaminated.
2) Industrial Waste:- The waste from industries is openly thrown in water of rivers and lakes. This waste has many chemicals in it, mainly they are toxic chemicals. The species in water also face many difficulties from this sometimes, Death.
3) Sewage:- Sewage, because of proper "taking care of" facilities, gets mixed up with water and pollutes it. There are many water borne diseases like cholera, diarrhoea, etc.
Hope it helps!!!!
