It ended in Chauri-Chaura in Uttar Pradesh(Right side of U.P on map). Around 22 policemen were killed in incident. Disappointed in the Indians, Gandhi-ji called a halt on the non-cooperation movement.

Yes, the Non- Cooperation Movement led by Mahatma Gandhi ended abruptly due to violence.

He started the movement, but he didn't have the desire to end the movement with the violence as he found the angry mobs and local police started attacking each other.

It lasts for around 3 weeks, but Gandhi appealed to the public to end it.

Although it ended abruptly, the movement breaks the back of British rule.
