7 is the correct answer according to me whereas you haven't given the list of no. so 5+7 will make it 12 turning the fraction into 12/12 that obviously Is a proper fraction as it is 1/1

Answer:

8 is the smallest no. to be added to the denominato of 12/5 to get a proper fraction

Step-by-step explanation:

proper fraction is a fraction that is less than one, with the numerator less than the denominator.

Let x be the smallest no. to be added to denominator of 12/5 to get proper fraction.

12/(5+x)>1

12< 5+x

7< x

x >7

x= 8 is the smallest no to be added to the denominator of 12/5 to get a proper fraction.

12/(5+8)= 12/13 is proper fraction as 12<13( numerator <denominator)
