The Ganges delta is the world's largest delta and it occupies the lower part of the Bengal Basin. This delta is located at the northern apex of the Bay of Bengal and its area is confined within the Bhagirathi-Hoogli river in the west and the Padma-Meghna estuary in the east.

The Ganga flows eastwards till Farakka in West Bengal. This is the northernmost point of the Ganga delta.
