Good article. Been working on developing magnesium based cements as these offer an environmentally friendly alternative to Portland cement with significant improvement in performance. In batteries, even though I feel it is still several years away before we see any mass production of any magnesium batteries, due to having to develop the total package including appropriate electrolytes and significant investments that have been made in lithium batteries that would not be applicable to magnesium technology, perhaps the shortages in lithium and recent lithium price spikes may accelerate the programs and drive some of the major players in focusing more on alternatives such as magnesium. The future for magnesium alloys though looks very bright!
